On August 9th, Chery New Energy announced on its official blog that the all-new Little Ant is about to be launched and will feature two new car colors, non burnt green and absolute purple.

From the official image, the all-new Ant Q should be the one that appeared at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier. The exterior outline of the new car basically continues the design of the old model, still small and cute, with only some adjustments made to the details.

The all-new Little Ant has remade the front face and adopted the popular integrated closed front grille design, which is more round and cute compared to the old front face. It should be loved by many young female consumers.

At the same time, the new car has also been equipped with a brand new “Qq” logo on the front, which is very compatible with its round and cute body shape.

The changes in the sides and rear are not significant, but the most important thing is to change the black plastic trim panels on both sides of the tailgate to match the color of the car body, making the overall appearance of the entire vehicle even more advanced.

In addition, the new car uses dense smoked black wheels, adding a touch of sportiness to its cute appearance.

The interior modifications of the all-new Little Ant are quite significant, and the use of a floating instrument panel and a new central control screen has enhanced its sense of technology.

The brand new center console design and the use of the bumper also make the previously slightly rough interior more delicate and delicate.

In terms of power, we will continue to use the rear single motor layout, with a maximum power of 36 kilowatts. Other more information will only be known after the new car is launched.

Since its launch in 2017, Chery Ant has achieved great success with its stylish and cute appearance, rare safety in its class, and the blank space in the market for new energy micro cars at that time.

However, the sales performance of Little Ant in 2023 was not very good. According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, its total sales in the first half of the year were only 10444 vehicles, in sharp contrast to the previous monthly sales of over 10000 vehicles. The decline in sales of Little Ants is actually traceable.

On the one hand, in the pure electric market of micro cars, more and more competitive new products are constantly emerging, eroding its original market share.

On the other hand, from the current perspective, the product strength of Little Ant is also lagging behind, and its pricing is also not low, so it will naturally not be favored by consumers.

Taking the currently popular BYD Seagull as an example, its size is larger, its power is stronger, and the official price of the lowest equipped model is only 73800 yuan.

On the other hand, the official selling price for the same level of battery life is nearly 78000 yuan for Little Ant.

Based on the previous analysis, the product strength of the all-new Little Ant is still good, but I’m not sure if it will surprise us in terms of price?
