On April 23, Huawei held a press conference for the new M5. The new M5 is equipped with Huawei intelligent driving as standard.

It is reported that the new M5 will be launched in three models, the extended range Max version (rear-wheel drive), the pure electric Max version (rear-wheel drive), and the extended range Max RS version (four-wheel drive). Yu Chengdong said that the new M5 will be delivered in batches on May 15.

In terms of appearance, the new M5 has been added to the two new car colors, “Metropolitan Red” and “Tahitian Gray”, and is available in gilt black, ceramic white, and azure blue, a total of five car colors to choose from. According to Yu Chengdong, the new M5 extended range model has a maximum comprehensive range of 1440km (CLTC), and a pure electric range of up to 255km (CLTC). The new M5 uses an all-aluminum chassis, which is more expensive than a million-dollar luxury car.

Huawei’s intelligent driving has attracted much attention. According to Yu Chengdong, the new M5 is equipped with Huawei’s intelligent driving and lidar as standard.

According to Yu Chengdong, on December 23, 2021, the Wenjie M5 debuted Huawei’s Hongmeng cockpit, and in May 2022, the Wenjie M5 started large-scale delivery, with more than 70,000 units delivered in 7 months. From January 1 to April 22, 2024, HarmonyOS Zhixing sold a total of 105,000 vehicles, ranking first in the sales of new cars in the Chinese market.

HarmonyOS Zhixing’s new flagship brand, Xiangjie, will also have new trends. The Xiangjie S9 will be officially unveiled at the 2024 Beijing International Auto Show. It is reported that the Xiangjie S9 is jointly built by Huawei and BAIC, and is the first executive-level luxury flagship sedan of Hongmeng Zhixing.
