At the Beijing Auto Show that opened on April 25, Changan Mazda EZ-6 was officially released, the new car is positioned as a medium-sized car, a new energy vehicle jointly developed by Mazda and Changan, and it is reported that the car will be officially launched in the second half of the year.
In terms of appearance, the Mazda EZ-6 continues the design style of the Mazda family, and the biggest highlight of the front face is that the classic Mazda Wing adopts a luminous design, and the headlights that run through the flowing grille are used, and the overall concept of soul of motion is continued.
On the side, the car has hidden door handles and is available with two 19-inch alloy wheels, which are also designed with low drag. The body lines of the new car are full of power, and the waistline is dynamic, just like other Mazda models, relying on the body lines to show the dynamic beauty.
Officially, the new car will be available in eight paint options, including the brand’s two new colors – Streamer Gold and Moon Gray. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the car are 4921/1890/1485mm.
The rear lights are a continuous design, with four round gun downlight clusters added to the tail lights, which is also a nod to the brand’s classic design. It is worth mentioning that this car will also be equipped with an intelligent electric rear spoiler, which supports manual or automatic opening and closing.
In terms of interior, the dashboard of the car adopts a floating design shape as a whole, and the overall style is also moving closer to electrification. In terms of materials, the car will be made of Alcantara and will be decorated with matt chrome trim to enhance the sense of sophistication. The high-spec variant will be available in the “Red Deer Brown” interior color, while the base variant will be available in the “Egreon Feather White” color.
In terms of intelligence, the car will be equipped with a 14.6-inch LCD screen, and the car machine system uses 8155 chips, integrating air conditioning, seats, entertainment and other functions of control. The car will also be equipped with a 14-speaker Sony audio system, 64-color ambient lighting, front zero-gravity seats, and the cabin also supports 13 scene mode switching. It is worth mentioning that the car also has a panoramic canopy and will be provided with automatic or manual sun blinds.
In terms of power, the new car will be compatible with pure electric and extended range power. The two new models, the J90K and J90K-REEV, are scheduled to be launched in 2025, and the NEV SUV and NEV CAR are planned for 2026.
Regarding the cooperation between Changan and Mazda brands, Zhu Huarong, chairman of Changan Automobile, said that the two sides will establish a closer communication mechanism. In addition to the EZ-6 and J90K models, the joint project will also build a third and fourth new models. It is expected to build 3-4 electrified products in the next five years.
